Osiris

Conspiracy theories, thought provoking, and get stuck in your head. Yes, it is possible to combine all these into a song. Osiris is the latest collaboration between Hamilton rappers Winston Anthony and Bobby Wahab. The title is homahe to Wahab’s Egyptian roots, and much like its namesake, Osiris has some dark underlying themes to it in a sense that it talks about what is wrong in the society that we live in.

We caught up with Winston Anthony briefly and here’s what he had to say about the track. “The conspiracy theories that Bobby speaks of, basically the song is our take on the dark side of the world which people usually ignore in the hopes that it will disappear when in reality, nothing disappears until you acknowledge it and make an active attempt at making right any wrongs in your life.”

“Basically, Osiris is a song which says you have one life so stop allowing the negatives to hinder your progress in life and just live it,” It’s hard to ignore the message of the song when it is as profound as it is catchy, “Osiris is coming, that’s a given. But whether or not you enjoy your life is up to you”.

Catch Winston Anthony and Bobby Wahab in Wellington this Friday with a bunch of other amazing artists from 10 pm onwards at Sandwiches. What a way to end New Zealand Music Month with a bang.

Anew

The blog front might have been quiet lately but that doesn't mean we've stopped being with the cool kids! Our blog is undergoing a few changes so expect something new (may or may not have met Russel Brand and Morrissey. stay tuned!) and more blog posts to come.

Thanks to everyone who supported us this year. Here's to 2013!

It's so appropriate the way we amplify the sound

Officially on summer break! I'm wearing my favourite lingerie to bed tonight. It's all black and lace and it makes me special. Lol. Anyway. . .
I had such a great weekend and it was the perfect combination of rage and relaxation. Caught up with some friends, made it through a 7hr shift at my retail job despite me limping a bit, Late night Momotea with the bestie, Dancing to the point of being sweaty at Electro Static and Social Club, waking up feeling amazing because I was downing iced honey lemon green tea instead of my usual cider, picnic lunches, bubble baths, pretty flowers, soy candles, fairy lights, and new black sheets.

So excited to be kicking back and doing things I want starting with catching up with my NaNoWriMo '12 entry and having a nice long sleep. Hope your weekend was great!x

Eat Pray Love

Yesterday was one of those very rare days where I can actually sleep in and make myself a nice brunch at home. And yes, I know, I can cook pretty well but cannot fry an egg to save my life! Been such a busy bee with the final stretch of Uni and things have been a bit crazy IRL, but back to blogging soon enough.

Today we get to witness one of our good friends Angela marry the love of her life Tim. So excited to celebrate this with some awesome people. Feeling the love!

Music Monday

Boy are you readers lucky today. On the weekend Jess, me and a couple of my workmates went out to see Pitch Perfect. If you haven't seen it already DO IT. I think Jess and I were destined to love it from the start due to all the Breakfast Club references. So theres a particular song in the movie that is stuck in my head and because Im super bored, stuck at home, I've learnt it. (I apologise for the singing, definitely not the best at it, and by the time I had the song locked down I didn't have much of a voice at all haha. I really just wanted to do the cup tapping part.)
